Under the direction of Municipal Golf Course Superintendent or designee, employee performs a variety of duties related to the grooming and overall condition of the golf course, including turf, bunkers, ornamental plants and trees, as well as building and roadway maintenance. Responsibilities include the operation of golf-course maintenance equipment and conducting daily equipment inspections to ensure safe and proper working conditions. Additional miscellaneous tasks are performed to enhance the overall experience of patrons. Work assignments may be completed independently or as part of a crew.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain golf course grounds, which may include performing semi-skilled tasks related to grounds construction, either independently or as part of a crew.
- Operate small, motorized equipment such as mowers, weedwhackers; debris blowers, hand or power tools associated with maintaining golf course turf, bunkers, ornamental plants, trees, buildings and roadways.
- Operate golf carts, utility vehicles, trap rakes, and other related equipment.
- Perform tasks associated with building maintenance, repairs, and renovations as required.
- Conduct safety inspections of equipment prior to each use and report malfunctioning or unsafe conditions to appropriate personnel or supervisor.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment for oneself, coworkers, and patrons.
- Present oneself in a professional manner at all times in communications and appearance as a representative of the Town of Ludlow and Westover Municipal Golf Course.
- Perform related duties as assigned by Golf Course Superintendent or designee.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified applicants must possess ability and willingness to perform physical outdoor work in various weather conditions. Must be reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Experience operating basic hand tools and grounds maintenance equipment preferred. The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in maintaining attractive public spaces, and demonstrates a strong work ethic and reliability.
